I have recently begun to become addicted to listening to motivational speeches. –I know, I know. What can I say; I am a recovering slacker. –Anyway, everything I hear suggests that not only is living your dreams possible, but these motivational speakers, as well as business coaches, time management gurus, and other successful business owners preach that there are strategies that one can employ to help move that effort along. Creating vision boards is one of those methods found to be useful in doing this.

I am no way saying that creating a vision board IS the hustle, but what I am suggesting is that if you use it like a roadmap, you will know where to focus that hustle. If, as Jim Rohn and Tony Robbins say, often people don’t give an idea or an enterprise enough time before they are on to the next thing, then knowing where your current focus lies and staying on the path is the key to getting there.

Yeah, this post started out as a D.I.Y. To that end, I had carefully taken loving photos of all the elements that I decided to use in order to create this board (along with some step-by-step photos). But then I thought I should tell why creating this vision board is so important to me, personally, but then I decided that this would be another long and ranty topic for yet another day. Ultimately, I feel I must unapologetically inform you that what follows is my way of cobbling together a D.I.Y. and photos post.

Vision Board Cheat Sheet --Blooming Prejippie

Because my vision board is in the common hallway at the doorway of my bedroom, I look at it every time I go to and from the bedroom. What’s even better is that my teenage kids see it as well on their way to their bedrooms and to their bathroom. I want not only for them to understand the vision for this family, but to begin to formulate aspirational visions for themselves. However, I know that if we require that they make a vision board themselves, we are libel to get pushback. –They are teenagers, so there is now that natural resistance to listening to parents. –But since I know that kids will do what you do, by putting it out there openly and explaining why, at this point in our lives, we’ve decided upon this vision boarding process, we are hoping to show them the value.

Finally, I make a habit of turning on the lights, reading in my mind, and reciting with my mouth at least several times a day those goals on the board. It helps keep me focused on having the proper attitude no matter what and on doing the daily work to get us that much closer to these goals.
